Back in 565AD a medieval Irish monk, Saint Columba, reported an encounter with a "water beast" in the River Ness, and so began a legend that lives on to this very day.
 
The Loch Ness Monster is a cryptid said to inhabit Scotland's Loch Ness (River Ness). Nessie is reported (over 1000+ sightings) to be a long-necked, plesiosaur-like creature. And in true cryptid fashion, major sonar weeps have not been able to prove or disprove the existence of this creature.
